Western KY Hit Hard By Storms; Possible Tornadoes

Powerful winds raked several Kentucky counties overnight and there may have been some tornadoes. There were storm-related injuries in Webster and Christian. In Christian County a mobile home rolled against the side of a house on Kentucky 109.

Trees were downed along Kentucky highways 91 and 272. Trigg County reported Kentucky 139 was closed by downed trees and power lines. A service station and some other buildings were damaged in Hopkins County. Authorities say trees were downed in numerous

National Weather Service Meteorologist Angie Lese (LEE'-see) says teams will survey damage today in northern Bullitt County, eastern Breckinridge County and other locations near Louisville to see if any of the damage was caused by tornadoes. David Blanchard at the weather office in Paducah says teams from there will visit locations in Marshall, Lyon, Graves, Trigg, Webster, McLean and Christian counties to check on possible tornado damage.

The storm that moved through Owensboro is being described as "a monster."
