Case Of Staph Infection At Powell County School

Posted: Fri 5:59 PM, Oct 19, 2007

School officials in Powell County are dealing with a confirmed case of staph infection.

Officials say an employee at Stanton Elementary School has been diagnosed with MRSA. We're told that employee did not contract the infection at the school.

Letters went home to parents earlier this week to inform them about this incident.

School officials say routine cleaning done at the school is enough to contain the spread of the infection.
