Police Hunting Escapee From Campbell County Detention Center

DRY RIDGE, KY -- The Kentucky State Police in Dry Ridge are investigating an escape from the Campbell County Detention Center.

KSP Officials say they are searching for 23-year old Daniel Steven Jahnke of Newport who escaped from the facility at 10:43 p.m. on Friday night. He apparently kicked open a gate in the kitchen area and then fled. Police say hiis probable destination is unknown.

Authorities say Jahnke is a white male, approximately 6’1” in height, 180 lbs with short black hair and fair skin. He has brown eyes (photo attached). He also has a large cross tattoo on his upper right arm. Jahnke was serving a sentence for receiving Stolen Property, Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument and Violation of Parole.

Any persons with knowledge of Jahnke’s location are asked to contact the Kentucky State Police at (800) 222-5555 or their nearest law enforcement agency.
