BARDWELL, Ky. (AP) - A Kentucky National Guard soldier from western Kentucky has been charged with murder in the shooting death of another guardsman.
Police say 19-year-old Cody Morris shot and killed 18-year-old Casey Hall on Thursday in Bardwell. Hall and Morris were among a group of boys playing video games at Hall's residence when an argument broke out.
Police say Hall was then shot in the head. The gun was then placed in Hall's hands after the shooting to make it appear that his death was a suicide.
Morris also faces charges of wanton endangerment and tampering with evidence. An unnamed 16-year-old boy has been charged with manslaughter and tampering with evidence.
Morris was being held at the Hickman County Jail in Clinton. The 16-year-old boy as taken to the McCracken-Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Paducah.
