RAVEN, KY -- A Johnson County man was killed Friday when he apparently lost control of his car and struck a tractor-trailer in Knott County near the community of Raven.
Kentucky State Police say 54-year old Virgil A. Plymale of River in Johnson County lost control on Ky. 899, crossed into the oncoming lane and struck a tractor-trailer driven by 52-yearold Larry Mosle of Hindman. The crash happend about 7:45 a.m.
Authorities say Plymale was taken to McDowell Appalachian Regional Hospital where he later died. A passenger in Plymale's vehicle was treated and released from the same hospital. State police say Mosely was uninjured.
