BOWLING GREEN, KY -- Kentucky State Police report the arrest of a Barren County man on marijuana trafficking charges who is also considered a "person of interest" in an apparent homicide involving a Glasgow man.
KSP Detectives working with Allen County Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a body located in the water at the end of Brownsford Road near the boat ramp in Allen County. A preliminary autopsy ruled the death a homicide.
The victim has been identified as 45-year old Luis Rodriguez of Glasgow. After further investigation, the KSP and Barren County Sheriff's deputies suspected the victim had been killed elsewhere and dumped in the water. Authorities say they also received information as to where the homicide may have occured.
Armed with that information, KSP Troopers, Barren Deputies and Drug Agents obtained search warrants and raided a residence on Winn School Road in Barren County, discovering what they described as an "elaborate and sophisticated indoor marijuana growing operation."
The owner of the property - 37-year old David Houchens of Glasgow - was arrested for trafficking in marijuana and they say he is considered a "person of interest" in the homicide case.
KSP and county authorities are continuing to investigate.
