Students at Wolfe County Schools did not have classes today after a bomb threat was made early this morning.

School officials say the call came in a few minutes before 6am, and they decided to go ahead and call off school just to be safe. So they called in multiple emergency service agencies as well as state police to investigate the threat.

State police along with a bomb sniffing dog searched all 5 schools as well as the county school buses.

“You can't take a threat lightly, you have to act on it. We're going to provide security throughout the night at our buildings and we will have school in Wolfe County tomorrow,” says Robert Scott Creech, Wolfe County Schools Administrator.

Officials with state police say the person who made the call faces charges of terroristic threatening and up to 12 months in jail.
