LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Printer maker Lexmark says a restructuring plan will affect more than 16 hundred jobs, about 12 percent of its workforce.
The Lexington-based company also says it will close an inkjet
cartridge manufacturing plant in Mexico.
The restructuring includes cutting about 200 jobs from its workforce of more than three thousand in Lexington.
The company says most of the 1650 jobs affected by the restructuring will move to other countries by the end of next year.
The company reported sharply lower third-quarter profits today.
Shares were down more than ten percent (to $39.22) in trading in
the Monday morning.
