An investigation is underway in Whitley County into the death of an 11-year-old boy.
Coroner Andy Croley says initial reports indicate the child, who was a student at Whitley North Elementary, came into contact with an unknown chemical. Grief counselors have been on hand this week to help students cope with the loss.
The Times Tribune says the cause and manner of death are still being investigated. The Whitley County Major Crimes Task Force is also looking into the boy's death.
