Nicholas County Home Destroyed By Fire

Video will be available shortly

A home is destroyed after a fire today in Nicholas County.

The fire broke out at a home in Carlisle. A friend of the homeowner happened to be driving by, noticed the smoke, and called 911.

Flames, smoke, and charred remains is all that's left of Nora Watkins' home.

The single mother lived in this duplex with her two daughters.

When Watkins heard of the fire, she rushed home to find firefighters trying their best to save the house, but the fire was too much.

Watkins lived here for several years. The house was already paid for, and she recently did some remodeling. Now, everything she owned is gone.

The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation, but the homeowner says she believes the fire may be linked to new roof where water was leaking into the electrical box.
