An Estill County mother waits for word on her daughter, who is among the tens of thousands of evacuees in Southern California.
Linda Durham tells 27NEWSFIRST her daughter, Brooke, and her son-in-law, Josh, were visiting in Estill County just this past week when they received a call their home was in the path of the raging wildfires in San Diego.
The couple rushed back home and had only 15 minutes to grab their belongings and get out. That was 3 days ago. Brooke told her mother it could be up to a week before they can get back to their home, which fortunately is still standing.
