A man police say they caught breaking into homes near UK's campus last week appeared before a judge on Thursday morning.

Paul Lee Harris, who has already entered a not guilty plea to robbery, burglary and trespassing, had a pre-trial hearing.

Police caught up with Harris while they say he was in the process of breaking into a home, early last Thursday morning. Through the early morning hours, police say Harris was responsible for at least 4 break-ins, including homes on South Upper Street, Foreman Avenue at the Newtown Crossing Apartments at Unity Dive and Red Mile Road.

Each home was occupied by female college students.

Police are also looking into whether or not Harris is responsible for several other crimes just off UK's campus.

During his court appearance on Thursday, Harris was charged with an additional crime of receiving stolen property.

Harris is being held at the Fayette County Detention Center on a $20,000 full cash bond.
