Child Left Alone On School Bus For Hours

A Kentucky school bus driver is placed on leave after a leaving a child alone on the bus for hours.
The incident happened Thursday in Carter County. A five-year-old girl fell asleep on a school bus and did not get off the bus at her elementary school.
The driver then continued to his second job. He did not notice the girl until he took out the trash two and a half hours later and saw the girl beating on the bus windows.
The driver immediately took the girl to the school and the girl’s mother was contacted.
The girl’s mother says her daughter was frightened and cold, but otherwise ok.
The driver was placed on administrative leave. He declined to comment.
The Carter County School system says it is there policy that drivers check every seat at the beginning and end of each route.
