Lexington Man Arrested For Beating Two-Month-Old Girl

A two-month-old Lexington girl is fighting for her life at the UK hospital after being severely beaten.

Police have arrested the mother’s boyfriend for hurting the baby.
Reginald Vann Phifer is charged with first degree assault.

According to a police report, Phifer bashed the girls head against a bed post then tried to smother her.

A family friend says the girl fractured her skull and is suffering from hemorrhaging and seizures.

She is listed in serious condition in intensive care at the UK hospital.
Police tell us more charges could be filed in this case.

Phifer appeared in court on Friday afternoon. He pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.
