Friday Fayette County Health and school officials worked to calm parent's fears on staph outbreaks in schools. Officials say they want parents to be informed about the disease, but not alarmed.
While the infection can be resistant to antibiotics, parent's shouldn't worry students will catch a superbug at school. Fayette County schools have two confirmed cases of MRSA, one student and one employee, but both individuals are cleared to return to school.
Fayette County school superintendent Stu Silberman says he wants parents to know officials are doing everything they can to keep their kids safe.
