Fletcher, Beshear To Appear In Final Televised Debate

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Republican Governor Fletcher and Democratic challenger Steve Beshear are scheduled to face off again tonight. The debate will be their final one of the general election campaign.

The debate will be broadcast live on Kentucky Educational Television. The November sixth election is eight days away.

Both candidates said during a debate last night that improving education would be a high priority in the legislative session that begins in January.

Both candidates said during the debate at Centre College that they want to increase the salaries of public school teachers. They also offered plans to help Kentucky students afford a college education.
