Burglars Responsible For Chemical Leak

Officials say burglars were responsible for a chemical leak in Christian County that forced the evacuation of an elementary school and some residents.

Police say the burglar cut through a fence at the Agri-Chem Company, rupturing a 30-thousand gallon tank of anhydrous ammonia.

Six people were treated with oxygen by paramedics, but there were no serious injuries.
