Mother Says She Didn't Hurt Her Infant Daughter

A not guilty plea was entered on Wednesday from a Lexington woman charged in connection with the abuse of her infant daughter.

Police arrested Nena Taylor on Tuesday afternoon, charging her with two counts of wanton endangerment.

Taylor's two-month-old daughter, Jada, was hospitalized with serious injuries, but was released from Kentucky Children's Hospital on Wednesday morning.

Police also charged Taylor's boyfriend, Reginald Vann Phifer, with assault. They say he beat the baby's head against a bed post and tried to smother her.

Taylor returns to court on November 13th for a hearing.
