It's a story you saw here on 27 NEWSFIRST, and now, people are seeing it nationwide.

The Duct Tape Bandit from Ashland is making news again.

Kasey Kazee was dubbed the Duct Tape Bandit after he allegedly robbed a Boyd County liquor store in August in very a peculiar disguise.

He allegedly wrapped his face in duct tape to hide his identity, but it didn't quite work out in his favor. A store employee chased him out into the parking lot, where he was later arrested.

In an interview from the jail, Kazee claimed police had the wrong man.

Now, months later, the Duct Tape Bandit is back in the public eye, but this time, it isn't his antics, but the creativity of people across the country that is making Kasey Kazee a sensation on another media outlet.

People have made their own video versions of the Duct Tape Bandit, and posting them on a video sharing site, YouTube.com.

You can access some of those videos, by clicking on the links below.

Kasey Kazee's trial was supposed to start this week, but it's been postponed until he can get a psychiatric exam.

This is the funniest thing I have ever heard of!! I watched it on the morning news when it first happened and laughed so loud I woke my family up. Makes Ky look like a bright ray of sunshine???

Cut the Duct Tape bandit some slack! It makes sense. Here in the hills of Kentucky we also call it hundred mile -a- hour time.Maybe he was hoping for a faster getaway!

Well, I guess we have found one thing duct tape won't do.....conceal your identity. Perhaps UK could do some research to look into why duct tape failed in this instance, after all UK did do that research into women with sagging breasts.

Why do we give people like this attention?

Posted by: Dan Location: Nicholasville on Nov 8, 2007 at 08:29 AM
And why is this guy getting so much attention? Our news carriers are publicizing him!!! Most of us would have had no clue what this dirt bag was doing if it weren't on every news channel last evening. Some people do great things to get noticed...some people do bad things.

Ah yes, another bright mark for KY. It's no wonder people on the outside of this state think KY is backwards and stupid. This guy gives new meaning to the phrase "Now I know why some animals eat their young."

Duck Tape can be used as a BAND-AID not a BANDIT...He sure is in a sticky situation..."The criminal was overheard crying...Mummy, Mummy... I want my mummy"...Stupid is as stupid does...
