Beshear Names Transition Team

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Gov.-elect Steve Beshear announced today that outgoing Lieutenant Gov. Steve Pence will help his administration take control of state government.

Pence is among a group of officials who will work with Gov. Ernie Fletcher's administration to facilitate the change of power.

Beshear unseated Fletcher in this week's general election.

Beshear also announced that his former campaign manager Jim Cauley will be his chief of staff. Larry Hayes, the deputy mayor of Louisville, will work as Beshear's top cabinet secretary.

Over the next several weeks, Beshear will be working to hire key officials in his administration. Beshear is scheduled to be sworn in next month.
