Lexington firefighters gathered Thursday night for a special ceremony in downtown Lexington.
More than a dozen firefighters were recognized at their annual awards banquet at the Raddison. Five firefighters were honored for their work in rescuing a couple from a home on Main street last february. Also, Doug Hurt was awarded Firefighter of The Year. Hurt is credited with training many new crew members and for raising money for 9/11 giving week.
