Catalytic Converter Thefts On The Rise

A crime alert in Central Kentucky, as reports of stolen catalytic converters are on the rise.

Thieves are ripping off cars in broad daylight, and causing hundreds of dollars in damage in the process.

Police in Lincoln County say they're seeing a rise in catalytic converter thefts in their area.

Thieves get between 10 and 120 dollars for each of the devices.

Police say there have been at least 10 cases of stolen catalytic converters from parking lots and neighborhoods around the county.

Investigators are keeping an eye on scrap metal yards to see is they can get a lead.
