Clean Up Begins At Rat-Infested House

An extermination company is now at a Lexington home getting the cleaning process underway.

The home, on Glen Abbey Circle, has been condemned by Lexington health officials because of a rat infestation.

The Fayette County Health Department and Andover Hills neighbors met Thursday night to discuss a plan to clean up the home.

Department officials unveiled a four part method to getting rid of the pests and clearing out the trash. The plan is to kill the rats, keep surviving ones from relocating, clean up the house, and make it livable again.

Officials did not set a date for when the process would be completed, but hope to have it finished by early 2008.
