Suspicious Apartment Fire

An unexpected wake-up call this morning for those living at a Lexington apartment complex, after what officials are calling a suspicious fire.

Dozens of people had to be evacuated when the fire broke out at the University Commons Apartments on Red Mile Road.

Firefighters say the fire started in an apartment currently used as storage.

They were able to contain it to that apartment, but nearby units suffered water damage from the sprinkler system.

Though the damage was minimal, investigators think the fire was set on purpose.

No one was hurt.
