Updated: Fri 4:26 PM, Nov 16, 2007

A teenage driver is in fair condition today after a fire truck slammed into his SUV.

Police say 19-year-old Michael Sordini ran a red light at Cooper Drive and University just before 3:30 this morning.

The fire truck, which was returning to the station from a run, couldn't stop in time and t-boned the SUV.

The crash sent five people, including two firefighters, to the hospital.

Officials tell 27 NEWSFIRST the injuries appear to be non-life threatening.

No charges have been filed yet against the driver. Police say drugs and alcohol are not suspected in the crash.

Chief Hendricks of the Lexington Fire Department says the fire truck had about 100-thousand dollars worth of damage.
