Heavy rain will be the issue through the first half of the day. Significant snow & sleet will be the call during the afternoon through tomorrow. Look for almost impassable travel in some spots tomorrow.
A former Southern Kentucky police officer accused of being on drugs last year when his cruiser crashed into a van has changed his plea just as his trial was set to start.
The plea deal could keep him out of prison.
29-year-old Brad Nighbert entered a guilty plea in a Whitley County courtroom this morning.
Nighbert resigned as a Williamsburg Police Officer after police said he had drugs in his system when his patrol car slammed into this minivan last April.
Nighbert was also arrested back in May when police searched his car, and found a gun, hundreds of dollars in oxycontin pills, and a fake dictionary.
Under the terms, he pled guilty to wanton endangerment. Other charges will be dropped, and the recommended sentence is to be probated, meaning he won't face prison time if he stays out of trouble.
