Police raid massage parlors as part of prostitution investigation

Several people now face charges after police raided three massage parlors in Richmond Tuesday.

Police say it was the result of a three month undercover investigation, targeting prostitution.

On Tuesday afternoon, Richmond Police and Kentucky State Police raided Yoshiko's Spa on Northgate Drive, Fuji Studio on South Porter Drive, and Ocean Spa on the Eastern Bypass.

Police say during the investigation, officers received information indicating some women working at the massage parlors were offering male customers sex, in return for money.

During the raids, police arrested 52-year-old Sun Aldrich of Oklahoma City, 54-year-old Myong Sim Tarver of Los Angeles, 75-year-old Sue Jones of Richmond, 48-year-old Chong H. Brown of Surf City, NC, 52-year-old Pun Suk Ray of League, TX, and 56-year-old Maria Lee of Aurora, CO.

All of those arrested were charged with promoting prostitution, a class D felony. All were lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.

Police say they also recovered around $16,300 in cash during the raids.
