LOUISVILLE, KY -- Three people were shot — one fatally — in two separate incidents late last night in western Louisville, reports the Courier-Journal in it's Saturday edition.
The first shooting was reported at 10:29 p.m. at 38th Street and Garland Avenue, just south of Broadway in the Chickasaw neighborhood, said Lt. Jim Sohan of Louisville Metro Police.
Authorities found the victim with a faint pulse on a sidewalk along Garland between 38th Street and Dearborn Avenue three minutes later, Sohan said.
EMS workers transported the victim to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, reports the C-J.
The second shooting was reported in the Algonquin neighborhood at 10:40 p.m., at 2300 W. Hill St.
Two victims had been shot and were taken to University Hospital, but their injuries were not initially thought to be life-threatening, Sohan said.
Police did not believe the two shootings were related, he said.
Police said initially they had no witnesses to the first shooting and had not found a murder weapon, reports the newspaper.
