WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. (AP) - A former eastern Kentucky police officer facing drug charges has pleaded guilty to wanton endangerment for crashing his cruiser.
Brad Nighbert entered the plea Saturday in Whitley County. The plea agreement would spare him any prison time.
Nighbert had been an officer for about seven years in Williamsburg when he crashed his cruiser into a woman's car while on duty last year.
Tests later found that Nighbert had the painkiller oxycodone and a low level of cocaine in his system. He also has a trial pending for drug charges in Laurel County.
