A look at cities nationwide found that Lexington is one of the safest.
The 14th annual "City Crime Rankings: Crime in Metropolitan America" was published by a private research group, CQ Press, a unit of Congressional Quarterly Inc.
Lexington ranked 171st in the list, which measured crime in 378 cities. Louisville came in at 218th.
Detroit lead the nation in crime reports, earning the title of the nation's most dangerous city. Last year's crime leader, St. Louis, dropped to the number two spot.
