FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - State Democratic Party Chairman Jonathan Miller is stepping down to take a job with the incoming administration of Governor-elect Steve Beshear.

Beshear is recommending that attorney Jennifer Moore take over as Miller's replacement. Beshear made the announcement at a news conference Monday morning.

The 33-year-old Moore will take over as acting chairman until the Democratic Party's state central executive committee meets early next month.

Moore has been the party's vice chairman. Nathan G. Smith of Fort Mitchell is being recommended as her replacement for that post.

Miller is finishing his second term as state treasurer. He is taking a job as state finance secretary.
