Search Continues For Shooting Suspect

Lexington Police are looking for a man they say is responsible for a double shooting.

Police say Everett Young, Junior, shot his girlfriend and a 16-year old boy last night. It happened Tuesday morning, around one, at a home on Ohio Street.

Police say Young shot the boy in the back and Hightower in the leg.

Both Hightower and the teenage victim were taken to the hospital.

Hightower has since been released.

27 NEWSFIRST has learned the boy's parents, who live in Toledo, Ohio, have been contacted by police to come to Lexington. Police say he was a runaway.

Police say Young will face assault charges once he's caught.

Both Hightower and Young have a criminal history.

Just this year, a judge sentenced them to probation for credit card fraud.

In January, a Lexington woman told police she was raped and robbed after Hightower and Young gave her ride home from the Grapevine Bar on Tates Creek.

The two were later caught on surveillance using the victim's credit card

As for today's incident, police are still trying to figure out the relationship between Hightower and the 16-year old who was with her.
