DURHAM, N.C. (AP) - Duke University says novelist Barbara Kingsolver will deliver the school's commencement address in May.
Kingsolver's daughter, Camille, is a junior at Duke. Kingsolver has written five novels, including "The Poisonwood Bible" about a Baptist missionary who takes his family to the Belgian Congo in 1959. She has also written short stories, poetry and essays.
Kingsolver graduated with a degree in biology from DePauw University after growing up in Kentucky. Her first novel, "The Bean Trees," was published in 1987.
