PIKEVILLE, Ky. (AP) - A Maine physician is the new dean of the
Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine.
The Appalachian school opened 10 years ago to generate more
doctors for the medically underserved region.
Boyd R. Buser has been serving as interim dean since September.
He came to Pikeville from the University of New England College of
Osteopathic Medicine in Maine. He also is a past president of the
American Academy of Osteopathy and the New England Academy of
Osteopathy.
The Pikeville medical school has produced more than 400
physicians so far.
