A First Alert Severe Weather Day starts at noon and runs until further notice. Rounds of storms increase today and carry us through the night. Heavy rains will be likely and that may cause additional flooding problems.
A judge has rejected a plea deal offered to a woman accused of helping dispose the remains of a dead foster child in the Ohio River.
Amy Baker was a key witness in the Ohio murder case against the
boy's foster parents and was granted immunity in that state in exchange for her testimony.
The Maysville Ledger Independent says she had agreed to plead
guilty in Kentucky in November to felony charges of tampering with
evidence in exchange for no jail time.
The plea would have been part of an enhanced probation program,
and Baker would have faced four years in prison if she had violated
terms of the proposed plea agreement.
Marcus Fiesel died after being left bound in a closet in his Cincinnati-area home for two days in August 2006 while Baker and the boy's foster parents, Liz Carroll and David Carroll Jr., attended a family reunion in Kentucky.
