Missing Woman Found At Mall

Updated: Fri 11:17 AM, Feb 05, 2010

It was quite a scare this afternoon for a Danville family, when a woman disappeared after eating at a restaurant in Lexington Green.

She walked out of Tony Roma's just after 2 this afternoon, and spent two hours lost outside in the cold before she was found.

77-year-old Joann Dexter, who suffers from dementia, was having lunch with her husband this afternoon, when they got separated.

She was finally found by in the Sears Auto Center at Fayette Mall by a shopper who thought Dexter looked lost. The shopper took Dexter to her car to warm her up, then flagged down police, who reunited Dexter with her family.

The family tells us has suffered from dementia for nearly a year, and this is the first time this sort of incident has happened.
