Giuliani Stops In The Bluegrass

The race to the White House trailed through the Bluegrass Wednesday.

Former New York City Mayor and the national front-runner in the GOP
presidential race, Rudy Giuliani made his first stop in Louisville where he got a political assist from the
University of Louisville basketball coach, Rick Pitino.

Pitino, a registered Democrat and former New York Knicks coach,
called Guiliani a friend who brought needed change to New York City
and guided it through tragedy in the wake of the 2001 terrorist
attacks, which claimed the life of one of Pitino's brothers-in-law.

Later Giuliani held an event at the Carrick house in Lexington, raising money for his campaign and for the Kentucky Republican Party. Protestors from a group opposing the Iraq war and Guiliani demonstrated outside the private event.
