LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - State Auditor Crit Luallen says she
doesn't plan to enter next year's race for Senate Minority Leader
Mitch McConnell's seat.
Her decision will recast the likely lineup of Democrats wanting
to challenge the four-term Republican.
Another Democrat, Iraq war veteran Andrew Horne, said he's a
likely candidate in next year's race. Horne had said he would defer
to Luallen if she joined the race.
State Attorney General Greg Stumbo is another prominent Democrat
considering a Senate run next year.
Luallen won a fresh four-year term as state auditor last month.
She had emerged as the favorite of several prominent Democrats to
challenge McConnell, but said in a statement Friday that "I have
no plans to enter the race."
