BLOOMFIELD, Ky. (AP) - A plane crash in central Kentucky killed a former Louisville physician and his wife.
Dr. Henry David Garretson, 78, and Marianna Garretson, 70, of ouisville died when their small aircraft went down northeast of Bardstown about 3:15 p.m. Saturday, according to The Courier-Journal.
Nelson County Coroner Field Houghlin said the couple were pronounced dead at the scene of the Cessna 210 crash.
Garretson was director of the University of Lousiville's Division of Neurosurgery from 1971 to 1994.
A spokeswoman for the Federal Aviation Administration, which is investigating the crash, said the Cessna 210 was headed from South Carolina to Clark Regional Airport just north of Jeffersonville, Indiana.
