Lexington Woman Receives Gift Of The Christmas Spirit

It was all the money she had for Christmas.

Last week, a Lexington woman dropped several hundred dollars in a grocery store parking lot.

Melody Hill says she lost $600, her Christmas savings, attached to a money clip, in the parking lot of the Foodland Market on Eureka Springs Drive.

The store's surveillance video shows what looks like someone picking up the money, but unfortunately no one has come forward to return it.

But in the midst of her frustration, the holiday spirit makes an appearance for one lucky woman.

She was working overtime trying to save up enough money to bring her daughter home for the holidays, but without that money, Hill says it won't happen.

Thanks to the generosity of a Berea woman, that is about to change.

Father Nick Pagano from St. Claire Catholic Church in Berea donated the money to Melody on behalf of a parishioner who wished to remain anonymous.

Thanks to this generous soul, Melody will get her Christmas wish.

She says she plans to use the $600 to drive to Florida on Christmas Day to pick up her 16-year-old daughter, so she can spend the holiday in Kentucky.
