Heavy rain will be the issue through the first half of the day. Significant snow & sleet will be the call during the afternoon through tomorrow. Look for almost impassable travel in some spots tomorrow.
If you live in Lexington, and someone spots your dog running around without a leash, it's about to become a more costly mistake.
Fines for violating the city's leash ordinance have been in effect for some time.
But city officials say they're not deterring enough people.
So Tuesday night, they met to put more pressure on dog owners.
The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Council is expected to approve an increase in fines for dog owners who violate the ordinance.
Right now, dog owners must pay a $10 fine the first time their pets are caught without a leash.
But the Council wants to increase that fine to $50.
Dog owners will have to pay a larger fine each time they're caught violating the ordinance, up to a maximum of $500.
