Officers Assaulted During Domestic Argument

A southern Kentucky couple faces felony charges, accused of attacking two police officers there.

Somerset police say the two attacked the officers when they responded to a domestic violence call at Western Hills Apartments on Hail Knob Road.

Police say Jerry Couch was stabbed during an argument earlier in the evening.

When Officer Gates and Criswell tried to arrest his wife, Michelle Couch, Jerry Couch tried to choke an officer.

The officers were able to subdue Jerry Couch with the help of Couch's brother, James Couch. In the meantime, Michelle Couch slipped from her handcuffs and attacked both Officer Gates and her brother-in-law.

Both Jerry and Michelle Couch now face several charges, including assault on a police officer.
