FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Some people didn't have desks or computers, but Governor Steve Beshear's administration started its first day of work today at the Capitol.
Beshear met with state budget officials Wednesday morning and is planning to swear in his cabinet secretaries in the afternoon.
Beshear, who was lieutenant governor more than two decades ago,
says people will be mostly figuring out how the phones work and getting organized on Wednesday.
Beshear says former Governor Ernie Fletcher followed a long-standing tradition of leaving a letter for the incoming governor. Beshear says Fletcher was "very gracious" and wished his administration good luck.
