Winning Powerball Ticket Sold In Shepherdsville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky Lottery officials say the winner of a $33.6 million Powerball jackpot has come forward to claim the prize but wishes to remain anonymous.

Lottery officials say the only winner in Wednesday night's drawing claimed the cash option prize of $16.47 million, or $11.36 million after taxes.

The winning $5 quick-pick ticket was purchased at a 44 Quick Stop in Shepherdsville, a Bullitt County town south of Louisville.

Lottery spokesman Chip Polston says this is the second time in the past 11 weeks that a winning Powerball ticket was sold in Kentucky. The most recent Powerball winner in Kentucky occurred in late September, when 22 workers at an office in Bardstown split a $61.5 million jackpot.

The winning numbers drawn Wednesday night were 7-14-33-40-55, and the Powerball was 15.
