Puppies at Center of I-75 Crash Now Need Homes

Updated: Thu 7:25 PM, Dec 13, 2007

A two-car crash on busy I-75, police believe, was caused by puppies. None were hurt.

“No they were in pretty good shape. I mean they seem pretty healthy. Little surprised they were on the interstate,” said Lauren Patterson of the Knox Whitley County Animal Shelter, where the puppies are up for adoption.

And since he somehow survived the 70 mile per hour more traffic on in the interstate, one dog has been named Lucky by the Knox-Whitley animal shelter workers. Now he just needs a home.

Lucky is one of more than 600 dogs the animal shelter brings in each and every month. Every one of them needs to be adopted.

“The adoption is 55 dollars and that provides a spay or neuter contract,” said Patterson.
