Woman And Cat Barely Escape Burning Home

Just weeks before Christmas, a Lexington family is dealing with damage from a house fire.

The flames broke out this morning at the house on Toronto Road.

The woman who lives there says she'd just dropped her boys off at school and was baking cookies when she smelled smoke.

It appears the flames started in an electrical panel in the basement.

The woman and her cat escaped unharmed, but the home was damaged by smoke and flames.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The woman says she had not bought any Christmas presents yet, so the fire wont derail all of the family's holiday plans.
