Soldier Indicted For Double Murder

A Hardin County grand jury indicted a man Thursday on two counts of murder after his estranged wife and her former mother-in-law were found shot to death.

Police say Brent Burke killed Tracy Burke and Karen Comer inside Comer's Rineyville home. Brent Burke is a military police officer in the Army.

His nine-year-old step-son, who was in the home at the time of the crime along with two other children, called police hours later to report the murders.

The News Enterprise reports Brent Burke was also indicted on charges of burglary, animal cruelty and wanton endangerment.
