Three people now face charges after Richmond Police say they were working together to steal many items from a store.

Police were called to the Meijer, in the Richmond Centre, on Sunday, after some employees noticed suspicious activity.

Police say employees saw a man and two women working together to shoplift watches, pocket knives, clothing, fishing lures, and shoes. Employees reported the three people were cutting open packages, concealing merchandise, and taking the items to a car in the parking lot.

Police then approached the three people and arrested them before they could leave the store's property.

Police identified the suspects as 46-year-old Herschell Hall of Gray, 37-year-old Debra S. Smith of Corbin, and 36-year-old Jennie R. Crosslin of Corbin.

All three suspects were charged with theft by unlawful taking over $500, which is a felony.

Smith and Crosslin were also charged for possession for drug paraphernalia, because police say they had razor blades, bent spoons with suspected drug residue, and a syringe with them.

All three suspects were lodged in the Madison County Detention Center. Police say the value of the stolen property was $1,153.51.
