Green Beans Recalled Over Botulism Concerns

Cans of GFS green beans are being recalled after they may have been contaminated with the deadly bacterium that causes botulism.

Cans labeled "GFS Fancy Blue Lake Cut Green Beans" are being pulled from store shelves. U.S. Food and Drug Administration officials say the beans may be carrying the c-botulinium bacterium.

They were sold at GFS Marketplace Stores and manufactured by the New Era Canning Company.

Infected cans were labeled with the lot codes 19H7FL and UPS code 9390111873.

The FDA is asking those who have these cans to double-bag and dispose of them.

Anyone with questions about the recall may call the FDA at 1-888-SAFEFOOD.
