WILLIAMSTOWN, Ky. (AP) - The World Equestrian Games are still two-plus years away, but businesses around the Lexington area are already gearing up for the event.

Counties and municipalities within two hours of Lexington are all angling to get a piece of the attention and the expected 300-thousand visitors to the games.

Woodford County has set up a World Games committee to get residents thinking about how to prepare for the games and what to do during and after the big event.

So far, the committee has already planned a Web site that will tell visitors everything about Woodford County and its two towns, Versailles and Midway.

Jessamine County has a committee called Destination Jessamine. It is reviewing some of its current attractions, including the possibility of rescheduling the enormous Christian music festival, Ichthus, to coincide with the World Games.

Other local flavors might include an re-enacted battle at Camp Nelson.
